A: Be truly Local app uses your device’s location to automatically display the promotion and the merchant’s location
with your proximity to the merchant. In App Settings, Location Services must be on, The Be truly Local app listed in
Location must have ‘Allow Location Access’ setting on ‘While Using the App’ and ‘Precise Location’ turned on.
Q: Can I filter deals by category or business type?
A: Yes, you can filter deals based on various categories, such as restaurants, bars, shopping, and by features such as kid
friendly outdoor seating, etc. This helps you quickly find offers that match your preferences.
Q: How do I redeem a deal?
A: The Claim it Now button is accessed from the promotion or merchant feed in the Be truly Local app. The app must
be active. In the Promotion feed, tap on ‘Show More’ at the bottom of the promotion, then tap on ‘Claim this
promotion’ in the Merchant’s page. Then one final tap of the Claim it Now button and you have claimed your
promotion. The promotion discount will be applied to your purchase.
Please note that you must be inside the participating business to claim the promotion and the business may limit the
number of available promotions in total or for an individual.
Q: Can I share deals with friends?
A: Yes, you can easily share deals with friends and family via social media or messaging apps. The app can easily be
downloaded and with the user’s email address entered, promotions can be claimed and redeemed immediately.
Q: Can I use the Be truly Local app without sharing my location?
A: The Be truly Local app requires your location information. Your location is key to providing promotions and merchants that are in your immediate area.
SPEND IT NOT CREDITS
Q: How does Spend it Now work?
A: When you tap the Claim it Now button to redeem a promotion, a portion of your purchase will be credited back to your Be truly Local account. The Be truly Local credit amount will display in the app before you make your purchase.
Be aware that there will be minimum and maximum credit amounts that can be applied to a purchase.
Q: How do I apply a Spend it Now credit to my purchase?
A: When you are ready to purchase the item, select the Merchant in the Merchant feed in the app. Tap on the red $ icon at the top of the merchant page and the Spend it Now page will display. Select the amount available to apply to the purchase. Hand your phone to the merchant who will enter a 4-digit code to approve the credit. That’s it!
Q: How long does it take for Claim it Now redemption to be applied to my account to use as Spend it Now credits?
A: Claim it Now processing times can vary, however claims are processed within a few days.
Q: Can I use a Claim it Now redemption and apply a Spend it Now credit in the same transaction?
A: No, Be truly Local will allow either a Claim it Now or Spend it Now (if available) in a transaction – not both.
NOTIFICATIONS AND ALERTS
Q: How do I manage notifications?
A: You can manage your notification settings in your account settings. You can choose to receive notifications that match your preferences.
Q: How often will I receive alerts about new deals?
A: We’ll send you alerts whenever new promotions or favorite merchant’s promotions are added to the app. You can either Show or Mute Alerts for a merchant and also use the Favorite label to ensure that the merchant’s and promotions are always at the top of the feed in the app.
ACCOUNT AND SETTINGS
Q: Can I create a wishlist of deals?
A: Not yet, but you can make a merchant a Favorite (heart icon) which will list merchants and their promotions at the top of your feed.
